Packard Complex Fire Deliberate
In Detroit yesterday, multiple fires broke out in the old Packard Complex. The 43 building complex is one of the most decrepit buildings in the country. The two-alarm fire started around 7:30 pm and occupied 25% of the cities’ fire engines. According to fire fighters, the Packard Complex has a fire in it about every 2 weeks. Many of them the city just allows to burn itself out. The area is easily tress passable, filled with graffiti, and is used as an illegal dumping zone by many people around the area. Fire officials believe that the fires were started deliberately. Even for Detroit, the state of this building is extremely poor. Something must be done before this “death trap” causes anymore harm.
